Local reality TV wars are set to sizzle as TVNZ2’s second season of Survivor NZ and Three’s second season of Dancing with the Stars will be going head to head on Sunday nights.

Survivor starts on April 22. Both networks are trying to keep interest high by drip-feeding the cast reveals.

Joining previously announced radio wildcard winners Kaysha Lahana from Wellington and Franky March from Auckland, today Survivor announces that farmer Arun Bola from Hamilton and real estate agent Renee Clarke from South Auckland are joining the series. Over the next two weeks, will bring you interviews with the contestants, recorded the in the Khao Laem National Park in western Thailand.

Arun and Renee are the newest faces announced to compete in Survivor.


Spy can reveal there are some intriguing characters to come — including one person who botoxed their face in a bid to achieve the ultimate Survivor poker face.

Other contestants include a former NZME journalist, a school librarian, an ex-Australian X Factor contestant, a couple of Survivor super-fans and a rocket technician . . . yes, a real-life rocket man.

Meanwhile, adding to the star line up of Gilda Kirkpatrick and MP David Seymour, this week Dancing with The Stars has announced radio personality Robbie Rakete, social media star and inspiring model Jess Quinn and former Black Cap Chris Harris and yet another politician is in the mix, former Maori Party MP Marama Fox.
