A prominent social media star is among the first two contestants announced for the second season of Survivor New Zealand.
ZM's Fletch, Vaughan and Megan this morning announced that Auckland journalist and social media influencer Franky March, 24, has taken the title of the ZM Wildcard.
“If there's any reality TV show I would enter, it would only be something physically and mentally challenging – something that would drive me to my limits and bring out the best in me," says Franky. "Life throws you funny things now and again, this is one of them.
"The Wildcard challenge has already made me face one of my biggest fears - what other people think and say about me. In terms of actually surviving in the wild for 40 days, I can't wait to see what I am really made of.”
Meanwhile, The Hit's Stace and Flynny announced Wellington social worker Kaysha Whakaru will also join the show as The Hits' Wildcard.
"Being the Wildcard is tu meke," says Kaysha. "I can’t wait to represent my whānau, my community, and all Māori peeps. Eldest of 10 children, the chance to win $250k will really help my whanau thrive. By becoming the Wildcard, I’m giving up a trip to Ireland to see my sisters represent New Zealand in taekwondo – but it’s worth it!"
Survivor New Zealand has raised the stakes for season two, with the grand prize now a whopping $250,000.
