Kim Crossman missed the Golden Globes this week, when SMILF, the show she has been starring in was nominated for an award.
Instead she has been showing New Zealand to her US boyfriend, line producer Josh Edwards, but was thrilled about the success of the show.
“SMILF was nominated for a Golden Globe, it’s super exciting to be part of a show that is really making waves in Hollywood and has already been picked up for a second season,” Crossman said.
On Wednesday she and Josh flew back to LA to film for a game called Best Fiends.
“This was Josh’s first trip to New Zealand and my first time to bring a boy home from overseas to meet the family. We watched Hunt for The Wilderpeople on the flight to Auckland, so he was well acclimatised when we landed. #bestmovieever. We made Pauanui our base, picked up a Ford Escape and travelled around from there, covering a lot of miles for sure, considering we were only in NZ for 16 days,” she said.
In that time, they saw many of the sights, including the Waitomo Caves — where they abseiled 80m into a cave. They learned to dive, checked out Hobbiton, learned to skurf on Lake Wanaka, bungy-jumped in Queenstown and ticked off all the best hospo spots and attended Rhythm and Alps for New Year’s.
They plan to come back in winter and learn to snowboard.
