Eyes are now turned to a third big sports star wedding of the summer.

The summer of love has seen All Black heart-throbs Ardie Savea and Beauden Barrett marrying their partners.

And now sporting couple Shaun Johnson and Kayla Cullen look like they are preparing to tie the knot.

Last week Johnson named his side of the bridal party. Groomsmen included in his Instagram link are his dad Paul and brothers Adam, Topo and Joe.

“The younger Johnsons got the W and I found myself some groomsmen on hole 13! Couldn’t imagine having anyone else stand beside me on what’s going to be the best day of my life Dad & Bros! We boys for life and I know you always got my back,” he wrote in a post featuring a pic of the group at the Mangawhai golf course recently.

Johnson, 28, is now based in Sydney after his controversial signing with the Cronulla Sharks. His 26-year-old fiance Cullen wasted no time in bringing their transtasman relationship closer, joining him days after he left for training for the upcoming NRL season.

Last weekend, the lovebirds enjoyed the sights and sounds of Sydney, and shopped at Ikea help get Johnson’s new pad sorted.

“I would fly anywhere to do life admins with you,” Cullen wrote on a picture of Johnson with a shopping trolley full of items.

There has been no shortage of wedding-related posts and jokes in recent months. At Te Whai Bay Wines last November, Cullen posted a picture of herself, to which Johnson commented, “Shall we get married there?”

Last weekend while shopping at an upmarket shoe store, Johnson held up a 4-inch platformed white pair of trainers, to which Cullen exclaimed: “Found him some wedding day shoes”.

So where will the couple tie the knot?

They became engaged in Mangawhai and now their pad has been done up, a beach wedding is not out of the question, while Te Whai Bay Wines is close by. We don’t think the couple will fancy a city wedding, but after seeing the beach-chic inspiration for their bach do-up, a Bali or Fijian wedding absolutely ticks all the boxes for a private ceremony for family and close friends.
