With smash hit Kiwi film Hunt For The Wilderpeople opening in Australia today, its director and stars have been busy on a charm offensive across the Tasman.

Director Taika Waititi and young star of the film, Julian Dennison, were kept busy at Wilderpeople's Australian premiere earlier in the week, happily posing with fans – and with camping props.

Dennison's partner in crime in the film, Sam Neill, also joined them for the promotional tour in Sydney, making a surprise appearance at a Wilderpeople Q&A.

Now that Hunt For the Wilderpeople is officially beginning its takeover of Australian cinemas today (reviews from across the ditch have been just as glowing as those in New Zealand), the next stop is the US, where the film is set to open on June 24.
