Kiwi musician Hollie Smith has found a new love - and not everyone is happy about it.
The chart topper has reportedly found love with banker Chris Barton - the widower of her best friend Helena McAlpine.
The popular TV personality died 18 months ago, following a long battle with breast cancer, which began in 2009.
In 2014, McAlpine married Barton in an enchanted forest wedding - with Smith by her side.
Last year, Smith released a tribute song to her best friend, titled Helena, which she wrote with Barton for the couple's wedding day.
But McAlpine's daughter Shannon has spoken out about the relationship, saying "it would've pissed Mum off," in an interview with Woman's Day.
Shannon says the couple never spoke to her about their relationship, instead telling her father about it.
"I can't stop it from happening... I think it would've pissed Mum off, but then most things pissed Mum off!" explained the 16-year-old hairdressing apprentice.
Shannon has taken in upon herself to continue her mother's advocacy for breast cancer awareness, becoming an official ambassador the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
