Kylie Jenner doesn’t seem to be having much luck when it comes to her make-up range. Firstly her lip kits were slated as being of poor quality and overpriced. Now she has been indirectly accused of copying an eyeshadow palette from NZ-based beauty blogger and make-up artist Shannon Harris. Make-up fans will know her as Shaaanxo from social media.
Last week Harris tweeted a photo of her $11 version of the palette next to Kylie’s $56 version. It was captioned with just two emojis.
The post was soon re-tweeted thousands of times with countless people leaping to the blogger’s defence.
Harris later tweeted that: "I never once said 'Kylie copied me' I made a joke bc they look similar lol come on! Yes, like lots of palettes do! No beef here guys." She also added that she was excited to buy one of the palettes by Kylie Jenner.
This is the second time Jenner has been accused of plagiarising a Kiwi. Earlier this year a joke was made by Kiwi designer and Instagrammer Brit Day about Jenner stealing her look. In April, Day posted a photo of both herself and Jenner wearing identical bikinis and multi-hued braided hair.
When questioned about the post, Day told Daily Mail Australia: ‘I was totally flattered [when I saw Kylie’s outfit]. It’s awesome to know that my girl crush supposedly has a crush on me!
"My post was in no way intended to be negative - it is sometimes easy for people to misinterpret what you’re trying to say over social media."
Day said she was flattered and that what she had posted was misrepresented and some fans of Jenner’s were unhappy with her post. They made some abusive comments for what they believed was a negative post about Jenner.
A few of Day’s fans came to her defence, pointing out that Day wore the outfit weeks earlier and it was quite a coincidence that Jenner was not only wearing the same bikini, but her hairstyle was very similar too.
Jenner has stayed quiet on both of these occasions.
