Frankie Adams posted a disturbing picture to her social media today, featuring her face covered in bruises.
Fortunately, it’s just for show. The bruising is part of her costume for the upcoming film One Thousand Ropes, which has just been selected to have its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next month.
She captioned it: “One Thousand Ropes by Tusi Tamasese. Shot in Wellington, NZ and premiering at Berlin Film Festival. Proud.”
One Thousand Ropes stars Adams and Uelese Petaia, and follows a father reconnecting with his estranged daughter, struggling to balance his desire to form a relationship with her and his want to get revenge against the man who beat her.
The film opens in New Zealand cinemas on March 23.
