Hauraki host Matt Heath ripped his shirt off, destroyed a computer and dropped several expletives during an aggressive meltdown caught on tape.
But, as fans of the radio DJ’s morning show with Jeremy Wells might have guessed, his rage was all a prank.
“This f***ing computer isn’t working. The screen’s dead. F***!” yelled Heath at the beginning of his rant.
He began hammering at his computer with an unknown object, before ripping it from his desk, throwing it on the ground and taking to it with a golf club.
If that wasn’t enough anger for one morning, Heath ripped off his T-shirt and flung it around his head cowboy-style while his face turned purple.
His co-host Wells watched calmly on, only interjecting at one point to tell Heath to “calm down”.
Followers on social media quickly worked out the video was in response to a clip posted online by Mediaworks pranksters Jono and Ben.
Their video showed Jono Pryor flying into a rage over a broken computer. It is alleged he didn’t know he was on air at the time.
“Let’s just hope that doesn’t get on social media,” says Heath at the end of his rant.
“We wouldn’t want the publicity,” quips Wells.
