When the Olympics are just months away and you're the defending shot put champion, there isn't much time for a honeymoon.
But newlyweds Valerie Adams and Gabriel Price are sneaking what time they can together while Adams continues her training in Leukerbad, Switzerland, ahead of the Rio Olympics in August.
The couple tied the knot in a small Mormon ceremony in Hamilton last weekend, before a large reception with friends and family at Auckland’s SkyCity. And today, they were celebrating "honeymooning at the gym".
Adams and Price dated for two years before revealing their engagement in January.
Adams told the Herald on Sunday in February that the couple made the perfect pair.
"He's the one for me. He's so laid-back and chilled. It makes my life easier. He's got the brains, I've got the muscle. It's a great combination."
