Sad news for star chef Nic Watt and his wife Kelly, who have separated.
Watt, whose foodie empire includes top Auckland eatery Masu, last week celebrated the opening of his new contemporary Chinese restaurant, Huami, at SkyCity’s Federal St with a glitzy red carpet affair.
The pair, who have two children, also have True Food & Yoga, a wellness centre which opened in the iconic Hammerheads building on Tamaki Drive last year. Kelly Watt is a yoga teacher and reflexologist.
There is no word on whether the pair will continue to operate their businesses together.
When asked for comment on the split, Nic Watt said: “We created a beautiful life and beautiful children and beautiful restaurants. However, it’s time for us to create beautiful new individual lives ahead.”
Kelly Watt told Spy: “It is hard being in the public eye when you have a break up, my focus is on my children.”
