Nothing says Happy Birthday like a good prank.
That’s exactly what happened to Seven Sharp presenter Toni Street on her birthday.
Earlier this week, Street revealed that her images had been stolen to promote diet pills online. Her TVNZ co-workers used this opportunity to pull an excellent practical joke on the birthday girl.
Orchestrated by reporter Tim Wilson, Street found herself in a meeting with TVNZ CEO, Kevin Kenrick, who confronted her about the diet pill campaign, claiming that the lawyers from the diet company had proof that she was paid for the promotion.
A flustered Street denied having anything to do with the scam, saying “this is so ridiculous. I just can’t even believe this.”

Luckily for Street she was let off the hook when Wilson entered the meeting room, cake in hand, singing Happy Birthday.
A relieved Street took the birthday prank well.
When asked if she wanted a slice of cake she joked, “No. I’m on a diet”.
