Winners of the The Block NZ: Girls vs Boys, Sam Cable and Emmett Vallender have let the dust settle after the final auction last week.
Their house, a modern three-bedroom property went for a whopping $1.61m with a profit of $380,000. They get to keep that profit, plus a $100,000 prize for coming first, taking their total winnings to $480,000.
That’s a lot of dough to get wild with.
Woman’s Day reported the boys still have no idea what they will do with their winning stash but have been celebrating accordingly by “ordering drinks by the bottle” says Sam.
In between reveling in the wake of their big win, the Wellingtonian flatmates have been “having a lot of afternoon naps and a lot of Netflix and we’ve been ticking off a lot of catch-ups. It seems we’ve come back to more friends that we had before we left!”
As well as making a lot more friends after winning, they have noticed they are getting a fair amount more female attention, “it’s weird because we don’t look any better than when we started the show, so we can’t help but think there is another contributing factor!”
Both Sam and Emmett still remain single but are on the lookout for some lucky lasses.
Perhaps they will put their hand up for The Bachelor next season? Watch this space.
