Broadcasting star Carly Flynn says she’s “happy but shocked” to be having a third child on the way.
In an interview with Woman’s Day, Flynn and her freelance cameraman husband Dave reveal their 10th wedding anniversary came with a present they weren’t quite expecting.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better present than a new baby,” Dave told the mag.
Carly admits she still can’t quite get her head around it.
“This definitely took us by surprise. I am really excited now, but there’s still a feeling of shock. I still can’t quite believe I’m sitting here talking about being pregnant.”
She recalls: “I just walked out of the bathroom and just raised my eyebrows at Dave, then I burst into tears. I was walking around in a daze for a while! They were very mixed emotions – happy and shock.”
The couple already have two children, daughter Tilly, six and four-year-old son, Jude.
Carly also admits that she is at a point in her life where she finally had a bit more ‘me time’ and worries about what having another newborn might mean to the family dynamic.
“What if I’ve forgotten what to do? It’s certainly easier for a dad to want another baby because it’s not their body and it’s not their career that’s affected. I’d forgotten just how tired you feel when you’re pregnant.”
The newborn baby is due in March 2017, just a week after son Jude starts his first year at primary school.
