The summer party season burst into full swing this week and Spy couldn’t move for glamorous slebs.

On Monday New Zealander of the Year Richie McCaw was guest of honour at an exclusive invitation-only Mercedes-Benz Masterclass dinner at The French Café. McCaw was accompanied by his gorgeous fiance Gemma Flynn  — the pair and French Cafe’s award-winning chef Simon Wright are friends of the brand.

The former “Captain Fantastic” was guest speaker, sharing his thoughts on leadership and how his background contributed to his successful playing career.

Wright presented four courses, inspired by McCaw’s Southern roots, with a modern take on whitebait and the Sunday roast.

The next day McCaw and Flynn flew out to Chicago to cheer on the All Blacks, who take on Ireland this morning on Soldier Field.

Flying the All Black flag in Auckland at the many Melbourne Cup lunches on Tuesday were Di Kaino and Daisy Dagg  — hubbies Jerome and Israel were already in the US — at the invite-only Ecoya lunch at 46 & York in Parnell.

Down the road at Cibo, Colin Mathura-Jeffree and Chrystal Chenery held court. Angela Stone attended the lunch at Stamford Plaza on Albert St, and the other five Housewives, Michelle Blanchard, Gilda Kirkpatrick, Louise Wallace, Julia Sloane and Anne Batley-Burton glammed it up at Euro at Princes Wharf.

Richlister brothers Michael and John Chow were also at Euro, where the fine after-party tradition continued, with guests letting their hair down late into the night. On Thursday Blanchard and Kirkpatrick mixed it up in Melbourne at the Maison Mumm marquee in The Birdcage at Flemington, which came complete with its own swimming pool and synchronised swimmers. Other special guests included Olympian great  Usain Bolt  — Crown Casino is rumoured to have paid $400,000 for his attendance.

The parties continue this week, with everyone after the ultimate invite — to the opening of American jewellery brand Tiffany & Co at Britomart.

The VIP cocktail party will see Britomart Square decked out in Tiffany Blue complete with a Tiffany Blue Bow Box.

The iconic brand is bringing a little piece of New York to Auckland for the night with guests, international supermodel Shanina Shaik and NYC based DJ Hannah Bronfman.
