The cooler weather might be upon us, but it wasn't stopping some famous Kiwi faces from hitting the great outdoors over the long weekend.

All Black and Hurricanes star Beauden Barrett says he opted for a "quiet weekend at home" with girlfriend Hannah Laity and their dog Monty, with the trio making the most of some blue skies in Wellington.

Nice quiet weekend at home with @hannahlaity and Monty. Hope everyone has a good Queens B-day weekend ✌

Meanwhile, Barrett's All Blacks teammate, Malakai Fekitoa, headed north to Auckland, enjoying his own blue skies over the city's harbour.

The original Bachelor NZ couple, Art Green and Matilda Rice, travelled to the Martinborough region for the long weekend, with the health-mad duo combining a little exercise with some sightseeing.

Green joked it was a "horrible morning" for a run up the region's Rapaki Track.

And one of New Zealand's sportiest couples, former All Black Richie McCaw and Black Stick Gemma Flynn, also took on the Rapaki Track over the weekend, albeit the one further south in Christchurch.

"What a stunning day for a walk through some beautiful New Zealand scenery," Flynn wrote on Instagram.
