Australian Idol winner Stan Walker has just completed filming on the upcoming western, The Stolen. Yesterday he posted on his Instagram a cute photo of him and his co-star Alice Eve, with a photo-bombing director, Niall Johnson.
Eve is a British actress who plays the lead character in the upcoming movie. Star Trek fans will recognise Eve, as she played Carol in the 2013 movie, Star Trek Into Darkness. She also starred as the nanny in Sex and the City 2. She has also been posting to social media photos taken during the shoot.
The movie, which has been mainly filmed in Christchurch is about a British woman (Eve) searching for her kidnapped son during the 1870s gold rush in New Zealand. The movie has been filmed in 30 days and is the biggest shot in Canterbury since Peter Jackson's Frighteners. It also stars Rocky Horror Picture Show creator and Bay of Plenty resident Richard O'Brien, who has a supporting part as a bartender.
The Stolen is due for release in 2017.
This week Walker also gave a shout out to VMA nominated dancer/choreographer Parris Goebel. He shared a pic to his social media with the caption "She's nominated for 3 WMA awards... this needs to be celebrated... What a beeeeeeast."
