Kiwi comedy star Rose Matafeo has been nominated for the prestigious Barry Award at Melbourne’s International Comedy Festival, regarded as the top prize in Australian comedy.

Matafeo is nominated for the award alongside Natalie Palamides, Helen Bidou (Anne Edmonds), Tim Key, Celia Pacquola, Lano & Woodley, Alex Edelman, and Sam Campbell.

Kiwi girl Rose has been performing her new show Horndog in Melbourne and getting rave reviews.

Last year's Barry Award winner, Hannah Gadsby, went on to be joint winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show with John Robins.

Matafeo scored a whopping four-star review for Horndog in Australia’s Herald Sun and took to Instagram to share the news with her fans.

“A sweet 4 stars in the Herald Sun which means they must have liked it despite calling my show in the headline ‘Hornbag’ instead of ‘Horndog’”

So awesome to see Kiwi comedians killing it overseas! Get it girl.
