The Black Sticks are well into their Olympic team bonding before they embark on their journey to win gold in Rio next month.
A fundraising dinner organized by forestry consultancy John Turkington Ltd for the team on Saturday evening at the Awapuni Racecourse in Palmerston North was a huge success.
The night included a celebrity Question and Answer with Black Sticks captain Kayla Whitelock, New Zealander of the Year Richie McCaw and ex-Tall Black Nick Horvath. Horvath and Whitelock are both from the Manawatu.
The night raised $50,000 for the Black Sticks' Olympic bid.
Auckland based Black Stick, 26 year old Charlotte Harrison proudly posed as the third wheel, with team mate Gemma Flynn and her fiancé Richie McCaw: “Black Sticks Women's Fundraiser Dinner. Thank you to the Turkington family for organising the whole night for us, we all had a ball! #3rd Wheel”
The gorgeous Gemma, 25 posted a lovely shot with McCaw and her father and mother, Rob and Michelle Flynn in a tasteful black and white shot, which showed off her glamorous sweetheart neckline and fish tail gown.
