Move over Real Housewives of Auckland, there's a new reality show in town: The Real Houseboys of Waiheke.
The parody follows two well-off blokes living the high life on Waiheke Island and their bizarre antics bare a similar likeness to the outlandish traits you might see on Auckland housewives version of the Bravo show.
The video features Matt Earle and Josh Hall - who have worked on kiwi versions of The Bachelor and The Block and posted the video late last week. It has already clocked up over 50,000 views.
Speaking to the Herald Matt said the idea just came to them. "We just thought it would be quite a funny topic and a good mainstream topic for a parody."
The remarkably crisp content manages to hold a strong resemblance to the other the Kiwi reality shows and Matt says that's not a coincidence. "Cause we have all worked in reality TV we can deconstruct it pretty well and just mimic it accurately, and obviously the production is so important as well, which is why we really strived to make it look as slick as possible, which is the whole package I reckon.
The duo behind the comical spin-off share a cheeky likeness to NZ comedy royalty Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie.
The pair, who do actually both reside on the island utilized their own production company Jumbo Media to film the video alongside cameraman and editor Tom Reed.
Mr Reed told the Herald "The three of us have so much fun creating content like this together, with no limit on how ridiculous we can push things and we're bloody excited for the next projects in the pipeline."
With more episodes to follow as well as their travel shows - one of which has just been picked up by 74 countries, the boys have no intention of slowly any time soon.
As for what Matt thinks of the Real Housewives of Auckland? "I quite enjoy it"
