The election season is off to a rip-roaring start and the clock is ticking to try and secure hip, young voters.
Politician Paula Bennett has really taken things up a notch with a recent video she posted on Facebook showing off her smooth dance moves.
Paula can be seen grooving to Eiffel 65’s Blue (Da Ba Dee) and also the Macarena.
Curiously, it looks like Bennett never learned the official Macarena dance moves, while Prime Minister Bill English is all over it.
It’s not the first time a Kiwi politician has unleashed their inner-disco diva – with varying results.
In 2011, former-PM John Key strutted his stuff on the runway at the unveiling of the Rugby World Cup uniform.
Not to mention Key’s hilarious Gangnam Style re-enactment that made headlines worldwide.
In 2006, Rodney Hide danced his butt off in Dancing with the Stars – famously dropping his partner Krystal Stewart and earning the brutal nickname, the “dancing potato”.
Meanwhile, Trevor Mallard made the news a few years back for his outrageous moves.
