Chef “Paleo Pete” Evans has started another controversy - this time about calcium. In a Facebook Q&A he told a woman with osteoporosis to remove dairy from her diet and eat “the paleo way”, after she asked for help managing her condition.

His suggestion goes against standard medical advice, which recommends people with the condition ensure they have enough calcium in their diet through foods such as dairy.

The chef's name was trending on Twitter this afternoon with Australian's mocking his advice.

But luckily for Pete, he has his wife by his side. Nicola Robinson took to Instagram to voice her support. Robinson who goes under the name 'Nutrition Mermaid' posted a photo of bees around a hive with the caption: "Some days it feels like we desperately want to be right, so much so that we become blinded to the knowledge & wisdom that lives within accepting that in many ways, we are wrong. Today I sense so much obvious fear, rather than love, in people’s attempts to justify their beliefs. So am I right or am I wrong in assuming that generally our most instant response to negative feelings, is to find the source for what we’re feeling outside of us, instead of within? When I expose myself to illusions outside of my own, it is ever so apparent that often it doesn’t even occur to us that who we believe we are, is the absolute issue & therefore a significant key to an essential solution! Oh how I wish we could all embody the crucial wisdom exuded from the unified nature of Bees!

Many of her followers agreed with her sentiments and the opinion of Evans. Robinson took the time to reply to one supporter: "Thank you Angel! Exposing ourselves to the manipulation of the mainstream media & the powers that be can be so disheartening at times. I have personally witnessed a number of wonderful people & countless families reclaim their health - their birthright, through embracing a lifestyle free of inflammation prompting foods & toxins & yet the so called health professionals who are employed to spread up to date knowledge, blatantly refuse to accept or acknowledge that profound, life saving truth. One thing is for sure though... I shall not lose hope. Blowing you & your divine family, pure love always my siSTAR!"

Back in July Evans came under fire for telling his Facebook followers not to wear sunscreen and the importance of gaining vitamin D from the sun.
