The face of last year’s New Zealand Fashion Week, Maia Cotton, is on the road for superstardom. Cotton, 18, has been modelling for only two years, but is already strutting her stuff with the celebrity elite in New York.

Spy hears big things are in line for the gorgeous brunette, who is living in Manhattan with auditions for New York Fashion Week and the Victoria’s Secret show coming up in August.

Could she be set to join fellow expats Stella Maxwell and Georgia Fowler, who have lit up catwalks around the world and made headlines for dating some of the world’s most famous stars? Spy understands Maxwell has taken Cotton under her wing, and the pair have already done a shoot together.

Cotton, a 62 Models star, has even been name-checked in Vogue’s best “celebrity beauty instagrams”, alongside actress Emily Ratajkowski, singer Selena Gomez, Fashionista Alexa Chung and model Karlie Kloss.

“Karlie Kloss used her toes to reach for the sky in Shanghai, a health-mind moment echoed by Maia Cotton at Manhattan’s Gotham Gym, her endless legs (and flexibility!) putting her trainer to shame,” Vogue purred about the former Palmerston North Girls High student. She was pictured boxing with her trainer at the gym, where she works out alongside Gigi, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner.

Last week Cotton continued her networking of the NY celebrity scene by heading out with model pals for a sun and fun-soaked weekend in the Hamptons.
