Fresh from his guest return to Shortland Street for its 25th birthday episode, Martin Henderson is on his way back to the big screen.
The 42-year-old Grey’s Anatomy star will feature alongside former Mad Men vixen Christina Hendricks in The Strangers 2, a sequel to the 2008 slasher movie starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, who found themselves in a cabin in the woods terrorised by mask-wearing psychopaths.
This time, the couple is replaced by a family whose road trip turns into a nightmare after they’re stranded in a secluded caravan park when the power goes out.
Young stars Bailee Madison, from Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, and Lewis Pullman from Aftermath, complete Henderson’s on-screen family.
This week, Henderson posted a picture of the group driving in Covington, Kentucky.
“My movie family. Having a blast scaring the crap out of each other in #TheStrangers,” he wrote.
It’s a return to the genre that helped launch his career, with his lead role in 2002 hit The Ring, alongside Naomi Watts.
The stars of the original movie met a grisly end — here’s hoping Henderson and the Emmy-award winning Hendricks fare better.
