Married at First Sight psychologist Dr John Aiken has opened up about his struggles with online trolls, saying "it's brutal".
Speaking to The Hits' Stace and Flynny, Aiken said his time on the reality dating show landed him in the limelight for the first time.
Fans online have since taken to social media to comment on everything from how he is on the show to making inappropriate comments about his family life.
"I've never been on a prime-time show before and thrown in the media," Aiken said.
"And the rumours, the speculation...everything changes week to week in the women's magazines and the social media fallout's been huge.
"To be totally honest, I think initially I did struggle with it a little bit because it's not just a little comment here and there, it's an avalanche. Then you sort of realise, well actually, people are gonna say what they're gonna say and you can't control it, so you just move onto other things."
But, he says, "It's brutal", and not just for him.
"I've got a young boy and girl and I'm thinking; if I'm struggling with it as an adult, these younger kids, teenagers must really struggle with cyber bullying because it really gets inside your head."
