Kim Crossman to star in new US series

The actress Spy used to call the pocket rocket Kim Crossman has out lived her nick name and has become a regular go to girl for US networks.

Crossman was only home to host the Social Media Awards at Shed 10 a few weeks ago and charmed all but stayed silent on her new success.

This week Variety announced that the former Shortland Street and Hashtaggers star has been cast in a recoccuring role in SMILF a new Showtime series set to permiere in the US in November.

SMILF” follows a single, 20-something from South Boston named Bridgette (Frankie Shaw), whose desires for relationships, sex, and a career collide with the realities of single motherhood. Shaw adapted her Sundance Film Festival Jury award-winning short film for the series.

Crossman is well cast she plays Kit-Cat an unapologetically optimistic bright young thing who flats with one of the shows female stars. despite her troubled past, as well as possessing a strong business sense. Crossman is set to appear in at least two episodes.

There is another Showtime project in which Crossman is involved. She is also set to guest star on the Jay Pharoah-led comedy series “White Famous,” which hails from executive producer and Hollywood star Jamie Foxx, boyfriend of Katie Holmes.

The show is based on Foxx’s early experiences as he made his name in the entertainment industry. Pharoah plays Foxx when he was an up-and-coming comedian who is trying to maintain his credibility with African-American fans while crossing over to become “white famous”.
