Seven Sharp host Jeremy Wells said the worst word possible on live TV last night and took to radio this morning to apologise.
“I said the C word on national television last night by mistake,” he told his Hauraki listeners.
“Yes, I did. I didn’t say it in anger, it came out by mistake. I was meant to say the word crunch and I said the word…
“I have done some terrible things in my life, terrible, terrible, terrible things. I dare not even think of them or speak of them at times,” he went on to say.
In an attempt to front foot the situation, Jerry used his radio show to own up to his mistake and apololgise: “I am hoping that people will sympathize with me via social media and make me feel better about myself.”
Jerry’s Hauraki co-host Matt Heath was not impressed by the situation, telling Jerry “you can’t say that” on Seven Sharp.
“I know you didn’t mean to, I know you just stuttered your words, I know you were probably reading off an autocue someone else wrote. But you just can’t say that. You just can’t. So can you just apologise again in a long form apology?”
