This year's Queenstown Winter Festival has been so much fun that one of Spy’s favourite party girls Brodie Kane went back again this weekend after a rollicking good time last weekend.
When Kane posted a picture with the handsome Ryan Bridge, TV3's Story reporter, before she even hopped on the plane, we thought there might be a rival network romance in the works.
She wrote: “Aaaaaaaand here we go again, what a time to be alive! Look out@qtwinterfest we're coming in hot for the second weekend in a row.”
The weekend before, the rival crews had all hung out at the festival's opening ceremony. Could romance have blossomed then, between the TV One and TV3 journalists?
Kane taunted social media with pictures of the pair on the slopes and apres ski, so we hit her up yesterday asking if she had a romantic announcement to make?
Alas, no such joy. “We are just great mates whose grandparents all knew each other really well,” Kane told Spy.
So just a friendship, but Kane did tell us there were some hot contenders in the Aussie contingent that hit the resort town over the weekend.
In other reporter news, on Friday TVNZ announced former MediaWorks presenter Carolyn Robinson will join Seven Sharp as a reporter, stepping in for Matt Chisholm while he films Survivor New Zealand.
Robinson worked at TVNZ many years ago, before going on to host TV3’s Nightline and later, 3 News as a weekend anchor. She also hosted the factual series What’s Really In Our Food?
On returning to TVNZ, Robinson says: “It’s really exciting to be stepping into a role at Seven Sharp. The team there is fantastic, and I can’t wait to reunite with the show’s Executive Producer, Antony Stevens, who I worked with on 3 News for a couple of years.”
