A blouse worn by competing newsreaders during bulletins this morning is in hot demand – but the Kiwi designer behind it says it’s almost sold out.

Breakfast presenter Hilary Barry and The AM Show’s Amanda Gillies both showed up to work in the same outfit today – a red top created by Kiwi fashion designer Ingrid Starnes.

The exact same blouse is available on Starnes’ website for $159.

Starnes told Spy there had been plenty of interest – but there were only small sizes left.

“We make very limited runs to keep exclusivity so the trick is always to get in early,” she said.

Starnes said her design had been sourced by stylists at the network, and she was happy to see her creation show up on two competing networks.

“It’s always exciting to see our pieces worn so well by women at the top of their industry, and it’s really great that the local networks support local design.”
