From sports stars to news presenters, it was wigs on all-round as some of the country's best known faces rallied together to support a worthy cause – the Child Cancer Foundation’s inaugural Wig Wednesday.

Radio hosts Polly and Grant from The Hits showed their support by posting this snap to Instagram.

 

While the stars of Shortland Street also had fun and got in to the spirit of the day.

Schools and businesses across the country were encouraged to support children with cancer and their families by taking part in Wig Wednesday.

One of the original faces supporting Wig Wednesday is Child Cancer Foundation Ambassador Jerome Kaino.

 

 

Other stars who supported Wig Wednesday included ZM's Fletch, Vaughan and Megan, as well as Bachelorettes Shari Flavall, Gab Davenport and Kate Cameron.

 

Richie Mo'unga, David Havili and Jimmy Tupou of the Crusaders Super Rugby team also donned wigs when they visited students at Kaiapoi Borough School.
