Well that’s awkward.

Bachelor NZ contestant Monique was voted of the island last night, becoming one of the first girls to leave the Bachelor mansion. This morning she revealed she had to ask for her job back after quitting to join the reality show.

Speaking to ZM’s Fletch, Vaughan and Megan, she said: “You really put your life on hold (to be on the show). I mean I quit my job to do that show.

“I work in the beauty industry as an area manager so I resigned from a really amazing job to go on the show because you had to do that. I mean I could’ve been away for ages!”

Monique was only in house for two days.

She says she rang her old boss and said: “I’m back… it was the worst phone call of my life.

“My boss knew what I was doing because we had to talk about it… And then I asked for my job back please.”

Three representatives have confirmed she did get her old job back. Lucky!
