If two men in a bed on Shortland Street last week was controversial, this week’s rollick in a hot rod and a skinny dip should keep viewers talking.

Spy can reveal that Luke Patrick has bared it all for his role as Frank Connelly on Shortland Street. The Australian hunk, who joined the cast in the final week of last year’s chaotic cliffhanger as the long-lost  ex-con triplet reuniting with his siblings, has wasted no time in getting close with the show’s leading lady, nurse Kylie Brown (Kerry-Lee Dewing). Kylie has had a  tormented past in life and love. Could finding romance with bad-boy Frank finally help her move on from TK (Ben Mitchell) and find happiness?

Well this week, their relationship gets off to a  passionate start with some car-rocking action for their first hook-up.

The next morning, Frank takes a skinny dip and the actor showed his Aussie bravado with a cheeky walk into the sea.

Cast and crew made jokes as they filmed the scene at Narrow Neck Beach in Devonport.

“The concept of getting naked on TV might be scary to some, but the filming is actually quite technical and the crew on the day were really nice and made me feel comfortable — so I didn’t really think about the fact that I didn’t have any clothes on . . . apart from a modesty sock of course!” Patrick told Spy.

It wasn’t just Dewing and the Shorty crew who got a look-in, a bus filled with elderly tourists also parked up for a gawk.

“It was a good day on set, despite the interruptions. I can laugh now, but at one point we had a bus full of tourists stop by, they got more of a view than they bargained for, that’s for sure. But it was all good fun,” he said.

“It’s all part of the job, and you definitely get to do things you wouldn’t normally get to do in this business.”
