Jimmy Fallon has tried to copy a Kiwi actor's accent - with pretty poor results.

Fallon, the host of The Tonight Show, was interviewing the cast of Riverdale when he heard Kiwi actor KJ Apa's accent.

"First of all, your voice, your accent, where are you from?" asked Fallon, trying to copy Apa's Kiwi accent with something that sounded like a cross between British and South African.

His attempt sent the rest of the Riverdale cast into hysterics.

Fallon also asked Apa how he ended up playing Archie, a classic American comic book character.

"I'm not American, I'm not a redhead, none of it really fits," admitted Apa, saying he was terrified about the audition.

He also revealed: "I was even mroe terrified how I was going to look with red hair."

Apa is currently shooting the second season of Riverdale.

He recently made headlines after being involved in a car accident while driving back from the show's set.
